Edward L. Hudgins:  

Life I received a BA at the University of Maryland, College Park, in Government & Politics, an MA in Political Theory and History at American University and a Ph.D. in Political Philosophy and International Relations at Catholic University of America. I've taught at UM in Munich, Germany (a great city with great beer and great opera!), College Park and off campus as well as classes at CUA and other places. I've worked at the Heritage Foundation doing trade, regulatory policy and international economic development work and was one of the first pushing for free markets in the Soviet Union; 1989 and 1990 were especially interesting times to be there. I came up with the concept of an Index of Economic Freedom. I worked on trade and free market issues for the Joint Economic Committee of Congress.
